Containers, Field & Household Goods
Containers, Field & Household Goods covers ordinary carrying gear, storage containers, camp equipment, climbing gear, lighting supplies, and provisions produced through standard tool-based crafting.
These items use the normal mundane crafting procedure. The crafter must have proficiency with an eligible tool, provide the listed Material Cost, and spend the required Crafting Time. One workday represents 8 hours of work.
Conventional Materials can provide the entire Material Cost of any item in this article. Appropriate Special Materials can instead provide Ingredient Credit when they form a meaningful structural or functional part of the finished item.
Containers & Carrying Gear
Flexible containers are commonly made from Hide, Fiber, or a combination of the two. Some also accept Reagents when a coating, lining, treatment, or contained preparation serves a genuine functional purpose.
| Item | Purchase Price | Material Cost | Crafting Time | Eligible Tool | Special Material Profile | Compatible Properties |
| Backpack | 2 gp | 1 gp | 1 workday | Leatherworker's Tools | Hide, Fiber | None |
| Crossbow Bolt Case | 1 gp | 5 sp | 1 workday | Leatherworker's Tools | Hide | None |
| Map or Scroll Case | 1 gp | 5 sp | 1 workday | Leatherworker's Tools | Hide | Preservative, Waterproofing |
| Pouch | 5 sp | 2 sp 5 cp | 1 workday | Leatherworker's Tools | Hide, Fiber | None |
| Quiver | 1 gp | 5 sp | 1 workday | Leatherworker's Tools | Hide | None |
| Waterskin | 2 sp | 1 sp | 1 workday | Leatherworker's Tools | Hide, Reagent | Waterproofing |
| Component Pouch | 25 gp | 12 gp 5 sp | 3 workdays | Alchemist's Supplies | Hide, Fiber, Reagent | Waterproofing |
Waterproofing
The Waterproofing Property can provide an additional route for an appropriate Special Material to contribute to a Map or Scroll Case, Waterskin, or Component Pouch.
The material must actually be used as a lining, sealant, coating, treatment, or another relevant part of the construction.
Using a Waterproofing material does not automatically make the finished item completely watertight or grant it additional protection beyond its ordinary rules.
Component Pouch
A Component Pouch is designed to carry the free Material components used in spellcasting and to protect them during ordinary use.
Its compartments, pouch body, and ordinary contents are abstracted within its normal Material Cost. A crafter does not need to individually source every free Material spell component contained within the finished pouch.
An appropriate Special Hide or Fiber can contribute through the construction of the pouch itself. A suitable Reagent can contribute when incorporated into the component stock, waterproofing treatment, lining, or another genuine functional part of the item.
Special Materials used to make the pouch do not give it additional magical properties.
Wooden & Field Goods
These Recipes cover straightforward wooden equipment used for storage, travel, camp work, and physical tasks.
| Item | Purchase Price | Material Cost | Crafting Time | Eligible Tool | Special Material Profile |
| Barrel | 2 gp | 1 gp | 1 workday | Carpenter's Tools | Wood, Metal |
| Chest | 5 gp | 2 gp 5 sp | 1 workday | Carpenter's Tools | Wood, Metal |
| Ladder | 1 sp | 5 cp | 1 workday | Carpenter's Tools | Wood |
| Pole | 5 cp | 2 cp | 1 workday | Carpenter's Tools | Wood |
| Portable Ram | 4 gp | 2 gp | 1 workday | Carpenter's Tools | Wood, Metal |
| Torch | 1 cp | 0 cp | 1 workday | Carpenter's Tools | Wood, Reagent |
Torch
A Torch can meaningfully incorporate both Wood and a Reagent.
The Reagent represents an appropriate fuel, resin, oil, pitch, or other combustible preparation forming part of the finished Torch.
This does not establish a general Combustible Property. The finished item remains an ordinary Torch unless another Recipe or Formula says otherwise.
Mixed Field Equipment
Some field equipment depends on several substantial materials working together.
| Item | Purchase Price | Material Cost | Crafting Time | Eligible Tool | Special Material Profile |
| Block and Tackle | 1 gp | 5 sp | 1 workday | Mason's Tools | Fiber, Wood, Metal |
| Climber's Kit | 25 gp | 12 gp 5 sp | 3 workdays | Cobbler's Tools | Hide, Fiber, Metal |
The listed Material Types represent meaningful components rather than a requirement to use every listed Special Material.
For example, a Special Fiber could contribute to the rope of a Block and Tackle while its wooden blocks and metal fittings remain Conventional Materials.
Likewise, a Climber's Kit might incorporate Special Hide, Fiber, Metal, or an appropriate combination of them.
Lighting & Provisions
| Item | Purchase Price | Material Cost | Crafting Time | Eligible Tool | Special Material Profile | Compatible Properties |
| Candle | 1 cp | 0 cp | 1 workday | Herbalism Kit | Reagent | None |
| Rations | 5 sp | 2 sp 5 cp | 1 workday | Cook's Utensils | Food, Reagent | Preservative |
Candle
A Candle's Reagent profile represents wax, tallow, treated oil, or another suitable consumable material.
Its 0 cp tracked Material Cost does not mean that no physical material is required. The value of the ordinary raw materials is simply too small to track meaningfully.
Rations
Rations can incorporate an appropriate Special Food material when it forms a meaningful part of the finished provisions.
A Reagent with the Preservative Property can also contribute when it is actually used to prepare or preserve the food.
The completed item remains ordinary Rations unless a more specific Recipe or Formula establishes another effect.
A Food material's own Direct Use does not automatically increase the amount of Rations produced.
