Reclamation & Components
Reclamation & Components covers methods for recovering reusable magical material from finished objects and for assembling specialized Components used in advanced crafting and arcane engineering.
Magical Reclamation is Formula-specific. A magic item does not automatically yield reusable material merely because it is magical, and there is no universal percentage of an item's Value or Magical Raw-Material Budget that can be recovered.
Components are completed technical parts made from already prepared materials. Once assembled, a Component is treated as the current crafting input. Its upstream ingredients are not counted again separately when the Component is used in a later project.
Routine work requires no ability check when the crafter knows the required Formula, has the necessary proficiencies and materials, and works in a suitable facility.

Arcane Residuum
Tracked Quantity: Weight
Value: 200 gp per lb.
Common Trade Quantity: 0.1 lb. sealed vial worth 20 gp
Material Type: Reagent
Properties: None
Affinity: None
Direct Use: None
Primary Source: Compatible Magical Reclamation Formulae
Arcane Residuum is reusable magical feedstock recovered through specific destructive reclamation procedures.
Its ordinary form is a stable fine Reagent. It does not naturally occur as a known mineral deposit or botanical resource and is not assumed to exist inside every magic item.
Arcane Residuum can provide Ingredient Credit only where a Recipe or Formula accepts it.
It does not automatically replace a named Required Material, Required Property, Required Affinity, Base Material, Component, or the generic magical materials required by every magic-item project.
Properly stored Residuum is normally kept in sealed glass or crystal containers to prevent dispersal, moisture contamination, and mixing with workshop debris. It requires no magical containment under ordinary conditions.
Residuum Crystallization
Transformation: Processing
Required Material: Arcane Residuum
Output: Equal weight of Crystallized Arcane Residuum
Value: Unchanged at 200 gp per lb.
Material Type: Reagent
Properties: None
Affinity: None
Required Tool: Alchemist's Supplies
Tool Proficiency: Required
Required Skill: Arcana
Required Facility: Controlled arcane-alchemical workspace
Processing Rate: Up to 0.5 lb. per workday
Formula Required: Residuum Crystallization
Residuum Crystallization reorganizes loose Arcane Residuum into one coherent crystalline body.
The process changes the material's physical Form rather than its identity. Crystallized Arcane Residuum remains Arcane Residuum.
Its Value, Material Type, Properties, and Affinity do not change.
A coherent crystal is useful for Formulae requiring a material that can be mounted, shaped, aligned, precisely positioned, or installed as a discrete part of an assembly.
For example, 0.1 lb. of ordinary Arcane Residuum is worth 20 gp, and 0.1 lb. of Crystallized Arcane Residuum remains worth 20 gp.
Crystallization does not grant a Property merely because the material becomes physically stable or solid.
Reversing the Process
Crystallized Arcane Residuum can potentially be ground, dissolved, or otherwise processed back into a loose usable form.
Doing so does not restore material already lost through contamination, damage, or previous crafting.
Standard +1 Weapon Reclamation
Type: Destructive Magic-Item Reclamation
Eligible Source: Conventional permanent +1 Weapon with stable, understood enchantment architecture
Required Skill: Arcana
Required Tool: Tool appropriate to the weapon's physical construction
Tool Proficiency: Required
Required Facility: Suitable magic-item workshop
Crafting Time: 2 workdays
Output: 0.25 lb. Arcane Residuum
Output Value: 50 gp
Formula Required: Standard +1 Weapon Reclamation
This procedure dismantles the magical architecture of a conventional +1 Weapon and recovers part of that enchantment as Arcane Residuum.
The source weapon's magical identity is destroyed.
Where its physical construction remains serviceable, the underlying weapon normally survives as the corresponding mundane weapon.
Reclamation Is Formula-Specific
The 0.25 lb. Yield applies to this Formula and this eligible source.
It does not establish a general rule that every Uncommon magic item produces 50 gp of Residuum or that every magic item returns a fixed percentage of its original crafting budget.
Artifacts, cursed items, sentient items, consumables, unusual constructions, and other magic items require their own reclamation method where one exists.
Surviving Special Materials
A physical Special Material can survive reclamation when the Formula and the object's construction allow it.
A surviving material retains its own material identity. Galarium that physically survives remains Galarium rather than becoming Arcane Residuum or Galarium Dust.
Its condition can still be changed by the reclamation process.
The same magical contribution cannot be counted twice. A material contribution cannot simultaneously be recovered intact at full reusable Value and also represented again as Arcane Residuum from that same contribution.

Galarium Regulator Core Assembly
Component Model: Scalable
Construction Mode: Assembly
Engineered Function: Magical Power Regulation
Primary Functional Material: Purpose-refined Galarium Core
Required Core Properties: Conductive, Regulating
Conditional Core Property: Retentive when temporary buffering or reserve capacity is required
Required Tool: Tinker's Tools
Tool Proficiency: Required
Required Skill: Arcana
Required Facility: Scale-appropriate specialist arcane-engineering workshop
Formula Required: Galarium Regulator Core Assembly
A Galarium Regulator Core Assembly is a purpose-built Component designed to receive variable magical input and provide a more controlled output to a larger system.
Unlike a Standardized Component, a Regulator Core Assembly does not have one universal size, Material Cost, Finished Value, weight, Crafting Time, or magical throughput.
Those details are determined by the Component Specification of the project that requires the Regulator.
The host specification determines the Galarium Core requirement, physical scale, geometry, interfaces, material quantities, Finished Value, specialist workdays, throughput, buffering requirements, and installation needs.
Required Galarium
Every Regulator Core Assembly requires purpose-refined Galarium with the Conductive and Regulating Properties.
A design also requires Retentive Galarium when temporary buffering, surge response, or operational reserve is part of the Component's intended function.
Retentive is not required for every Regulator.
Function
Depending on its Component Specification, a Regulator Core Assembly can be designed to smooth magical fluctuations, restrict excessive input, control distribution, isolate connected systems, support controlled shutdown, or provide brief surge buffering.
The Assembly manages magical power supplied by another source.
It does not generate magical power, function as fuel, automatically amplify power, or provide universal long-duration magical storage.
Component Credit
When a later Formula or Plan accepts a completed Galarium Regulator Core Assembly, it uses the current Finished Value assigned by that Component Specification.
The Galarium and other materials already incorporated into the Assembly are not reopened and counted again separately.
The Galarium contained inside the finished Component also does not independently activate Galarium-Assisted Crafting for the larger downstream project.
Arcane Matrix Node
Component Model: Standardized
Construction Mode: Assembly
Output: 1 Arcane Matrix Node
Approximate Weight: 2 oz.
Material Cost: 30 gp
Finished Value: 60 gp
Engineered Function: Stable Arcane Matrix Interface
Manufactured State: Unimprinted
Required Tool: Jeweler's Tools
Tool Proficiency: Required
Required Skill: Arcana
Required Facility: Fine Component bench or equivalent precision workspace
Crafting Time: 6 workdays
Formula Required: Arcane Matrix Node
An Arcane Matrix Node is a small standardized Component used to establish a stable magical reference and interface within a larger magical construction.
Its function comes from the relationship between its central matrix, Conductive inscription, precision mounting, controlled geometry, and final calibration.
Required Materials
Crystallized Arcane Residuum: 0.1 lb., providing 20 gp of material contribution.
The Residuum must be in a coherent crystalline Form suitable for use as the Node's central matrix.
Galarium Scribing Ink: 0.25 oz., providing 5 gp of material contribution.
The Ink creates the Node's fine Conductive pathways and interfaces.
Goldlace Compound: 0.1 oz., providing 5 sp of material contribution.
Goldlace Compound secures the central matrix and helps maintain the physical alignment of the assembly.
Conventional Precision Materials: 4 gp 5 sp.
These include the housing, fittings, mounting pieces, contact surfaces, insulators, and other small precision parts required by the Component.
Unimprinted State
A newly completed Arcane Matrix Node is Unimprinted.
Unimprinted is a Component State rather than a Property.
A later Formula or Plan determines how the Node is calibrated, integrated, imprinted, consumed, removed, or otherwise used.
There is no universal Node Imprinting procedure.
An Arcane Matrix Node does not inherently represent one enchantment, one stored spell, one magical Property, one item charge, or another universal unit of magical construction.
Current-State Accounting
The Node's Finished Value is 60 gp.
When a later Formula or Plan requires an Arcane Matrix Node, the Component is counted in its completed state.
The project does not separately recount the Arcane Residuum, Galarium Scribing Ink, Goldlace Compound, or Conventional materials already incorporated into it.
Elemental Resonance Coupler, Fire-Aligned
Component Family: Elemental Resonance Coupler
Component Model: Standardized
Construction Mode: Assembly
Output: 1 Fire-Aligned Elemental Resonance Coupler
Approximate Weight: 1 lb.
Material Cost: 50 gp
Finished Value: 100 gp
Engineered Function: Elemental Resonance Mediation
Compatibility: Fire-compatible elemental architecture
Required Tool: Tinker's Tools
Tool Proficiency: Required
Required Skill: Arcana
Required Facility: Precision arcane-engineering bench
Crafting Time: 10 workdays
Formula Required: Elemental Resonance Coupler, Fire-Aligned
An Elemental Resonance Coupler mediates between a general magical supply or magical construction and a downstream system requiring a particular elemental resonance.
The Fire-Aligned configuration conditions magical flow for use by Fire-compatible engineered architecture.
It does not create Fire energy. Instead, it establishes a stable interface between a general magical input and a construction whose operation depends on Fire-aligned elemental behavior.
Required Materials
Cinderplate: 0.5 lb., providing 20 gp of material contribution.
Cinderplate provides the Regulating, Fire-compatible boundary of the assembly.
Harmonic Quartz: 0.25 lb., providing 10 gp of material contribution.
Harmonic Quartz provides the Resonant reference used to maintain the Component's calibrated elemental response.
Conduit Glass: 0.15 lb., providing 15 gp of material contribution.
Conduit Glass provides the Conductive interface through which magical energy enters and leaves the Component.
Conventional Precision Materials: 5 gp.
These materials form the housing, fittings, mounts, insulation, and other ordinary structural parts required by the Component.
Function
The Coupler mediates elemental compatibility within a larger engineered system.
It does not generate Fire energy, amplify magical power, deal Fire damage, grant Fire Resistance, or store substantial magical reserves.
Its mechanical purpose exists only when a later Formula or Plan requires a Fire-compatible elemental interface.
Other Elemental Configurations
The Elemental Resonance Coupler is a Component family, but each elemental configuration requires its own Formula.
The Fire-Aligned Formula does not establish the construction requirements for Air, Earth, Water, Lightning, Cold, or other possible configurations.
A different configuration can require different materials, geometry, interfaces, or even a substantially different internal architecture.
