Gloom Stalker
Hunt Foes That Lurk in Darkness
Gloom Stalkers are Rangers who thrive in the darkest places, using shadow, patience, and sudden violence to hunt creatures that believe themselves safe from sight. They are at home in lightless caverns, ruined places, deep forests, and other environments where darkness conceals danger.
Their magic sharpens their senses, obscures them from creatures that rely on Darkvision, and allows them to strike with terrifying precision before their prey can recover.
Level 3: Gloom Stalker Spells
Your connection to shadow grants you additional spells.
When you reach a Ranger level specified in the Gloom Stalker Spells table, you always have the listed spell prepared.
These spells don't count against the number of Ranger spells you can prepare.
| Ranger Level | Spell |
| 3 | Disguise Self |
| 5 | Rope Trick |
| 9 | Fear |
| 13 | Greater Invisibility |
| 17 | Seeming |
Level 3: Dread Ambusher
You have learned to strike with speed and precision when danger begins.
You gain the following benefits.
Ambusher's Initiative
You add your Wisdom modifier to your Initiative rolls.
Ambusher's Leap
At the start of your first turn of each combat, your Speed increases by 10 feet until the end of that turn.
Dreadful Strike
Once on each of your turns when you hit a creature with a weapon attack, you can deal an extra 2d6 Psychic damage to the target.
You can use this benefit a number of times equal to your Wisdom modifier, with a minimum of one use.
You regain all expended uses when you finish a Long Rest.
In addition, when you roll Initiative and have no uses of Dreadful Strike remaining, you regain one use.
Level 3: Umbral Sight
You are accustomed to navigating places where ordinary sight fails.
You gain Darkvision with a range of 60 feet.
If you already have Darkvision, its range instead increases by 60 feet.
While you are entirely within Darkness, you have the Invisible condition against any creature that relies on Darkvision to see you in that Darkness.
Level 7: Iron Mind
Your training has hardened your mind against effects that would bend your will.
You gain proficiency in Wisdom saving throws.
If you already have proficiency in Wisdom saving throws, you instead gain proficiency in Intelligence or Charisma saving throws, your choice.
Level 11: Stalker's Flurry
Your attacks have become more relentless and unsettling.
The extra Psychic damage dealt by your Dreadful Strike increases from 2d6 to 2d8.
In addition, whenever you use Dreadful Strike, choose one of the following effects.
Mass Fear
The creature hit by the triggering attack and each other creature of your choice within 10 feet of it must make a Wisdom saving throw against your Ranger spell save DC.
On a failed save, a creature has the Frightened condition until the start of your next turn.
Relentless Strike
If you missed with a weapon attack earlier during the current turn, you can immediately make one additional weapon attack against a creature within the weapon's range.
Level 15: Shadowy Dodge
You can disappear from an attacker's reach in a burst of supernatural shadow.
When a creature makes an attack roll against you, you can take a Reaction to impose Disadvantage on that attack roll.
After the attack is resolved, whether it hits or misses, you can teleport up to 30 feet to an unoccupied space you can see.
