Vel'Nathar
Vel'Nathar, roughly translated from Elven as the Isle of Storms, is a large island off the western coast of Ethelra. Its settlements extend from Stormhaven and the fertile Lowlands in the south through the forests, moors, mountain valleys, and exposed coasts of the interior and north.
The Greyspires form the mountainous spine of the island and shape many of the roads and passes that connect its regions. Around them lie Eastmarch, the Bleakthorn Wilds, the Northern Highlands, and the wooded country surrounding the Lowlands, each shaped by its own geography and history.
Beneath Vel'Nathar lies another inhabited world. The Murmuring Depths extend through vast cavern systems beneath the island, containing rivers, roads, settlements, and trade routes that connect several peoples whose histories have developed alongside, and sometimes apart from, those of the surface.
