The Isles of Alven'Nathiss
The Isles of Alven'Nathiss lie west of Vel'Nathar and consist of four major islands: Ael'tharis, Ael'nareen, Ael'eris, and Ael'delar. Each has its own landscape, communities, and traditions, but regular travel between them has created a closely connected society shaped by shared history, religion, scholarship, and trade.
Ael'tharis is the largest and most populous island, with extensive agriculture and close ties to Vel'Nathar. Ael'nareen is less densely settled, with exposed coasts, moorland, forest, and the open Relathir Plains. Ael'eris is smaller and more lightly populated, known for its sheltered lagoons and the unusually vivid dreams reported by many who stay there. Near the center of the archipelago, Ael'delar serves as a traditional meeting ground and is home to Syl'dareth, one of the oldest sacred sites in the Isles.
The approaches to Alven'Nathiss are protected by Sael'ithren, the Evermist, an ancient ward established with Midir's aid during the early Sera'drin settlement of the archipelago. The mist obscures the islands and makes their approaches difficult to navigate without knowledge of established routes, but it is not an impassable barrier. Regular trade, diplomacy, and travel continue between Alven'Nathiss, Vel'Nathar, and ports beyond the archipelago.
