The Isles of Alven'Nathiss

The Isles of Alven'Nathiss are a scattered chain of smaller islands lying just across the narrow stretch of sea from the Shattered Coast of Vel’Nathar.

To those who sail from Vel’Nathar’s shores, Alven’Nathiss is a shifting specter upon the waves, glimpsed only in twilight hours when the sun and moon share the sky. Some claim the isles cannot be reached by ordinary means, that the currents twist and the winds deceive, forcing uninvited travelers to sail in endless circles. Others whisper of an ancient enchantment guarding the borders, allowing only those with elven blood or the blessing of the land to pass.

What actually keeps Alven’Nathiss hidden from the world is the Evermist, a dense fog that clings to the waters around the isles, shifting and swallowing ships whole. The mist is said to be woven with ancient magic, a ward placed by the last of the elven exiles to keep the isles hidden from unworthy eyes. Others claim it is a natural phenomenon, a consequence of the isles' closeness to the Feywild.
