The Energy Planes

Often called the Empty Planes, the Energy Planes stand apart from both the Inner and Outer Planes. They consist almost entirely of raw cosmic energy rather than stable matter. The Positive Energy Plane is saturated with vitalizing radiance, while the Negative Energy Plane is dominated by entropy and the depletion of vitality.

Neither plane contains much that mortals would recognize as a conventional landscape or ecosystem. The beings found within them are often composed primarily of energy, while their environments behave more like shifting currents and concentrations of force than physical terrain.

The Energy Planes are not part of the ordinary transit networks of the Ethereal or Astral Plane and are typically reached through direct planar magic, established portals, or other controlled crossings.

Both planes exist at dangerous extremes. Though they may appear empty by mortal standards, neither is truly devoid of activity, and prolonged exposure to either is usually fatal.
