Ostheria

Ostheria is a kingdom along the southern reaches of Ethelra whose institutions and traditions have been strongly shaped by the worship of Myranthus, the Dawnsinger. Its capital, Sanctivara, is also the kingdom's principal holy city and home to the Cathedra Magna, the foremost Ostherian seat of the Dawnsinger's Concord.

The Concord traces its roots to the Thessaric era, and Ostheria preserves many Myranthine traditions that developed during the old empire. Protection, healing, and responsibility toward those affected by hardship remain important religious ideals. The Order of the First Light carries those principles into martial service, with an emphasis on defending communities from serious threats.

Away from Sanctivara, much of Ostherian life is centered on its towns, farmland, and southern coast. Iscarra is one of its major ports, connecting the kingdom to wider trade and travel across the seas. Ostherian sailors also take part in exploration, while members of the Dawnsinger's faith sometimes travel abroad as healers, teachers, or missionaries.

Myranthus is the kingdom's dominant faith, though other religions and less observant communities are also part of Ostherian life. Relations with neighboring Vashkova remain strained by long-standing differences over necromancy, undeath, and divine authority, but the two states are not currently at open war.
