Célaine

Célaine lies in the central lands of Ethelra, known for its vineyards, noble estates, and the capital of Lorcionne. Courtly life plays a major role in the kingdom, where art, magic, diplomacy, and reputation all carry political weight.

Much of Célaine’s politics revolves around the Grand Masquerade, the web of alliances and rivalries that shapes life among the noble houses. Families such as Montclair, Renard, and Devereaux compete for influence at court and the favor of Empress Celestine III.

The Empress rules from Lorcionne with the support of the Arcanthelion, a council of archmages responsible for many of the kingdom’s magical affairs. The Imperial Legion protects the realm, while the Radiant Sentinels serve as elite knights and battle-mages directly tied to the crown.

In Célaine, politics often happens through ceremony, reputation, and carefully chosen alliances, making the royal court as important a battlefield as any frontier.
