Malgathar, the Destroyer
Greater Deity
Domains: War, Forge
Cultural Names: Kal’Zurath in Nurathar, Xíngluò in Shen-Su,
Domain
Malgathar rules from the Brimstone Foundry, his divine realm deep within the Nine Hells of Baator. He was not merely exiled to this place — he claimed it and rebuilt it. The Hells were once a fragmented plane of punishment and ruin. Under Malgathar’s will, they became a war engine, a forge of obedience and conquest.
The Foundry itself lies embedded in the burning strata of Baator, a fortress-factory where legions are shaped, doctrines are etched into steel, and souls are broken down into fuel for war. Each archdevil was forged by his hand, crafted as echoes of his intent — from the iron resolve of Dispater to the cold precision of Mephistopheles, and the brutal perfection of his first creation, Asmodeus.
The Nine Hells do not imprison him. They serve as the manifestation of his purpose.
Creation and Divine Role
Malgathar was not formed with the Celestial Accord. He emerged from the Shadowell, the dark consequence of Lymarel’s death. As mortal grief and ambition twisted together, divine residue formed a wellspring of corruption. From that pit, Malgathar rose — the first of the Triad.
He is the embodiment of war made sacred. He teaches that peace is stagnation, and strength must rule. His creed is not senseless violence, but order imposed through force.
The Triad was born through him. He did not ask for followers. He offered victory, and they came.
Worship and Doctrine
Malgathar is revered by warlords, tyrants, and empires that demand absolute obedience. In Nurathar, he is feared as the force behind imperial subjugation. In Shen-Su, his name is used in oaths of conquest and ancestral judgment. Among the Xal’Tarothi, he is venerated as the sanctified wrath behind righteous domination.
The Orzhun of the Kharzai Khanate see him as the crucible of strength. Their culture of domination and transformation is built on his teachings. His presence marks not temples, but arenas, forges, war camps, and blood-stained banners.
Clerics of Malgathar choose the War or Fate domain. They serve as commanders, enforcers, and priests of discipline. Power is their prayer. Fear is their sacrament.
Tenets:
-
Strength determines order.
-
Obedience is survival.
-
Peace invites rot.
-
Only the will to conquer endures.
Echo of Creation — The Iron Crown
Malgathar’s Echo is the Iron Crown, forged in the heart of divine rebellion. It grants the bearer control, not by charm or vision, but by presence. Armies form beneath its shadow, and resistance bends.
The Crown does not corrupt. It clarifies. Only those already willing to rule at any cost can bear it.
Divine Mark — The Bloodforged Brand
Those Chosen by Malgathar bear the Bloodforged Brand, a crimson sigil that appears as an open wound across chest or spine. It pulses in battle and whispers commands in silence.
The bearer feels no fear. Pain becomes fire. Their strength builds with each conquest. The mark flares brightest at the edge of death, where surrender would come — but doesn't.
Mythic Role in Eldareth
Malgathar was the first of the Triad. When he rose from the Shadowell, the world shifted. He incited not revolt, but conquest. When the gods rejected him, he claimed the Hells and rebuilt them into an empire of dominion.
He forged the archdevils — generals, tormentors, and priests — each a reflection of his design. His teachings flow through the Orzhun, the Xal’Tarothi, and every regime that uses law to chain the world.
Malgathar does not rule from prophecy. He rules through power. His name is not spoken in prayer — it is carved into stone, seared into banners, and branded onto the flesh of those who refuse to kneel.
